After riding out 552 toward the Natchez Trace, we turned onto Firetower Road which hit Rodney Road. Go to the right, north, on the paved portion of the road. It will go a long ways but will take you to Rodney on a paved road.
Pulling into "town", we immediately went to this church which was directly ahead. We looked for the cannonball that was supposed to be in the face of the building. It was not there. This was not the church.
Ray walked the building and said it had been upgraded in the the past with aluminum siding. This one is the Catholic Church, 1869.
The picture below is one of Ray Fagan's. It is what I saw and proclaimed the correct church. We putted over and indeed it was.
This old Cabin was near the first Church.
The "two story brick structure" mentioned below.
Rodney goes back a ways.
Oh, I wanted to go inside.
I don't know if this is Alston's Grocery.
The Mason's Hall
That's why I wanted to see Rodney. But there was more. I saw churches, but no cemeteries. Let's go up the hill.
