This is where the big events will be shown for the next century. The Montreal Canadiens made it their home, so's other major shows and cultural activities...

For wrestling, the WWE started with a house show, then awarded the 1997 Survivor Series in November of that year. An angry Bret Hart slammed the door out of the federation. Thus, the federation made some house shows until they shot RAW and SMACKDOWN for a few times,  one of them was the next day from Wrestlemania 18 in Toronto, where Hulk Hogan had one of its biggest standing ovations ever...

But Hogan was there in 1997 when WCW came for a house show produced by Jacques Rougeau, the latter beating Hogan in front of a big crowd...

Later, in 2002, Jacques Rougeau was back with his own promotion, Lutte Internationale 2000, with his own wrestlers. However, not a big crowd turned out as opposed of the WWE...

And to keep it worst, the WWE signed an exclusivity contract as the only wrestling federation presenting shows in the arena. However, with all the big bucks, they can afford it...

For the rest, they can't, even if the WWE folds one day... Quite an expensive place to run a show...
