| Real Name: Edward Creatchman Born: Montreal, Quebec Feburary 27th, 1928 Died: March 9th, 1994 Nicknames: The Brain, The Boss FACTS: Creatchman was maybe hated beside the ring, but a real nice and colorful guy outside. However, he sometimes despised the wrestling kayfabe for not letting him meet the fans, even if he was hated. (It was a law that heels couldn't meet fans to keep the show as is and the stories more believable to "marks".) Johnny Rougeau gave the claim to fame to The Brain when he gave him the "rights" to manage wrestlers and the microphone to give his immortal speeches. |

| He was probably one of Qu�bec's wrestling top sellers and mainly one of the world's best wrestling managers. He was the first to call himself "�Brain�" even before Bobby Heenan used it. |
| And his prot�g�s were as notorious as his colorful declarations... There is really "�something to say�" about Eddy Creatchman. |
| Born in Montr�al, almost one year before one of his worst enemies in the ring, Johnny Rougeau, he was a proud jewish kid (he bore the Star of David all the time) even in the hard times he was raised in (the 30's depression). However, young Eddy was as ambitious as many of his peers at the time�: making business and money at the same time. |
| Unlucky in being a wrestler (he had diabetes), he was at least a succesful referree in the 1950's with the Eddie Quinn promotion. He had a particuliar way to shout the 1.2.3. count for the pin. So particuliar enough that, when wrestling was at a low in Qu�bec in the middle of the 60's (the retirement of Yvon Robert and the death of Eddie Quinn�...), he turned into the business of managing wrestlers, especially the worst heels you could ever imagine... He started his "�business�" when Johnny Rougeau's "�Wrestling Aces�" promotion started in 1966. |
| One of his first prot�g�s was the Sheik, one of the rudest and bloodiest wrestlers ever found in the world. He had bought the Canadian managing rights of the Sheik from the late Ernie Roth (better known as the Grand Wizard of Wrestling). Then he launched his prot�g� against babyfaces in the like of Johnny and Jacques Rougeau, Gino Brito, �douard Carpentier, etc... He helped the Sheik win his several championships in both "�Wrestling Aces�" and "�Grand Prix�" promotions... |
| However, it's with his fiery speeches that Creatchman did his reputation. With his mobster-like tone, he always declared that "�I have something to say�: my men will destroy wrestlers, all over the Province of Qu�bec, one by one, and the bells will ring, I'll pass you a contract on that, and I'm happy, because my men are making money, lots of money, and I like money. And I'm like a rat; everywhere there's a hole I'll be there. I've started all this...�". Of course, he got booed, but like Mad Dog Vachon in the 50's, his declarations brought the big bucks all over Qu�bec, Ontario and the Detroit area... |
| He also had a couple of gimmicks when he was manager�: the first one was an electric cattle rod that he used against wrestlers beaten by his prot�g�s. For the rest, he wore sunglasses, jewels of all sorts (rings, the Star of David collar), a whistle (that you heard when he tells his wrestlers to attack the opponent) and a "�Hundred Dollar Cigar�" that he smoked during fights and also shared with his employees after each brawl... |
| Perhaps Creatchman's biggest contract is with Abdullah The Butcher. The Brain never ceased to used the Sudan Mastodonte to pulverize his most loated enemies, mostly the Rougeau Family, Andr� the Giant and the late Dino Bravo. Abdullah followed the Brain up until the end of the International Wrestling promotion in 1987 (Abby was the last champion of this federation...). |
| Other prot�g�s that signed the contract with "�the King of Pepsis�" include Don Leo Jonathan, Michel Justice Dubois, Sailor White (John Edward White), Pierre Mad Dog Lebfevre, Gilles the Fish Poisson, Hangman Neil Guay, Swede Hanson, Killer Khan, Mr.Fuji (Harry Fujiwara), Mr.Saito (Masuhiro Saito), Frenchy Martin (Pierre Vigneault), Sheik Ali (Stephen Petipas), Kamala, Hercules Ayala, The Great Samu, The Samoans, The Head Hunters, The Long Riders (Irwin Brothers), The Texans, Billy Robinson, The Bouncer, Jeff Jefferson and his own son, Pretty Boy Floyd Creatchman... |
| In his personal life, Creatchman, like almost every Jew, didn't worry about money. He owned a scrapyard in the Sorel area (near Montr�al), so his financial worries couldn't let him down. He told a radio journalist in 1981 that he drives a leased Cadillac, owns a house with three morgages in the suburb of Dollard-Des-Ormeaux outside Montr�al, with four toilets, and didn't want a swimming pool because he hates water and his neighbors hated him so much (they were wrestling fans) that they could drown him... He said also that the wrestling world was tough, however he still could eat three meals a day. Anyway, he didn't know why he was hated so much, he's a good guy, he hurts nobody, but when everybody sees him they laughed. So was the humor and the colorful personnality of the Brain... |
| He was a good family man. He had a wife (who died in 1985) and two children�: Cheryl and Floyd and was grandfather as well. The latter, Floyd (who died in 2003), being as well prot�g� of his colorful father, tried his luck at managing like his father (he nicknamed himself the no.1 sport agent). He also hosted a capsule like Roddy Piper in the International Wrestling TV show in 1986 ( He honored his father in some way, until Gino Brito came there and wasted his tribute...) |
| When International Wrestling folded in 1987, Creatchman took it slowly and and participated in Gino Brito's SPW promotion in Qu�bec (he had for prot�g�s, wrestlers like the Bouncer and Jeff Jefferson) while selling bologna sausage in a local flea market in Chambly, Qc. However, complications with his diabetes caused his death in March 1994. |
| With a colorful persona like his, Qu�bec pro wrestling lost maybe its biggest event seller. And it came from "�The Brain�"... |

| Between 1994 and 2002, this gentleman gave a good imitation of Mr Creatchman's. Floyd Broffman from NCW in Joliette had mimics similar to the Brain's (very nice guy indeed which I had to meet !) |
