  • A digital archive and documentary on Pleasant is "in the works":

  • The National Parks Service's (NPS) Network to Freedom Program! has generously awarded a grant to Susheel for a digital archive on Pleasant for use by scholars and others. This money and matching monies from AAMLO (The African American Museum and Library at Oakland) and The California Council for the Humanities will help complete script development and the DVD that will house archive of Bibbs research. Watch for the archive in 2003 -- to be housed at AAMLO and sold later through this site to the general public.

The MEP programs (musical and dramatic chautauquas and the touring exhibit) were among the first nineteen programs chosen for the NPS Network-to-Freedom nationwide and were one set of only two programs in California to be selected in the first NPS round. Bibbs' proposal for the archive scored in the top three for the country. --Congrats!! Thanks Network to Freedom Program!!!
