HANK WILSON VOL IV: Rhythm & Bluegrass HANK WILSON AND THE NEW GRASS REVIVAL
A Beatles song played bluegrass style inspired Leon Russell's interest
in the bluegrass genre and led to his memorable 1980 tour and hit live
album with the New Grass Revival. More than 20 years later, Leon Russell
Records presents an archived second album, Rhythm & Bluegrass, with
the title cut written by Russell to showcase the peerless original band:
Sam Bush on fiddle, mandolin and vocals, John Cowan on bass and vocals,
Curtis Burch on guitar and dobro, the late great Courtney Johnson
on banjo, and Russell on keyboard and vocals.
Blending traditional bluegrass music with songs that did not originate
in the bluegrass genre, studio-produced Hank Wilson Vol. 4:
Rhythm & Bluegrass is as engaging and timeless as the
earlier release with the potential to captivate a new generation of music
lovers.
