"MAGIC COP"
(Kui Moh Ging Chaat)

Lam Ching-Ying returns as another Taoist, reprising his famed Vampire Killer from the enjoyable "Mr. Vampire" series. This time playing a cop in modern day Hong Kong, Ching-ying has his hands full, fighting off an evil Ice Witch, her zombie slaves, and a couple of bumbling junior officers of the police force.

Michiko is somewhat indifferent about this film as she really doesn't  get to showcase any of her talents. But her portrayal of the evil Ice Queen is so seductively sinister as to be outright creepy. It's a subtle and effective portrayal of evil, that is both enjoyably campy, humorous and effectively scary.

Michiko's favorite scene is an exchange between her and two of Lam Ching-ying's younger officers. Michiko displays her powers by using a single strand of her hair to slice a porcelain tea service in half.

This film marks the first time that Michiko and Lam Ching-ying appeared together on camera. But trivia fans should note that in Michiko's debut film "My Lucky Stars", it was actually Lam Ching-ying's legs that she was kicking and not those of the lovely Sibelle Hu.

Lam Ching-ying gave Michiko a compliment on the set reminding her that he still suffered from those kicks.
"Good kicking.. but let's not do it again."
