Tom "Midnight" Vandeberg
Born in St. Paul, MN, Tom later moved to Lakeland, FL, where, as a teen, he met his wife. The two married at a young age and had three children together – two boys and a girl. Feeling the financial strain of raising a young family, Tom went to Virginia, seeking greener pastures (and a higher paying job). Finding employment in the booming “Beltway” tech. industry, he moved his family to Virginia, where they now reside outside of the small rural town of Stephens City, located in the northern end of the Shenandoah Valley. Being long-time animal lovers, Tom and his family share their home with two dogs, two cats, a ferret and a fish.
As a teen, Tom soon became fascinated with magic and metaphysics, often opting to delve into the more complex “classical” magical texts by such authors as Mathers, Crowley and Waite, over the more easily accessible titles available at the advent of the “New Age” movement. His magical studies soon led him toward Wicca and Paganism, where he found a niche for himself. After more than a decade of solitary work, he began working with several groups in the Northern Shenandoah Valley region. This eventually inspired him to create the Northern Shenandoah Valley Pagan Alliance (NSVPA), a non-profit group with the aim of bringing together practitioners of alternative spirituality in all of its many forms, so as to give them unified voice. It also aims to educate the general public about such beliefs and practices.
About his metaphysical work, Tom says this: "My life's purpose is to help others - to help them find direction and purpose in their lives, to help them overcome obstacles and to help them reach their full spiritual potential. Toward that end, I offer my services as a spiritual consultant and teacher. I am an experienced Tarot reader and magician. I offer advice and instruction on a variety of magical techniques that will help in all areas of both the mundane and the spiritual sides of life. My services are available either face to face or remotely. As far as magic goes, it is not a quick fix for all of your problems. In fact, in most cases, it's a last resort when you've exhausted all other possibilities. Don't come to me and tell me that you can't find a job, while you sit on your ass in front of the TV all day. There's no magic that will fix that for you! You want a job, get off your ass and go look for it! If you're actively looking, well, then we can do some things to tilt things in your favor. Also, with regards to readings, what we see in the future are possibilities in relation to the past and the present, as well as opportunities that will be placed in your path. Certain things are granted by the Universe, what you do with them is completely under your control."
