This is Roger Moore's debut as James Bond, and it's certainly his finest hour. He's still young and tough-looking to pull it off, particularly when he storms the voodoo ceremony to rescue Solitaire, wielding a gun and a sword. He prefers huge cigars to Connery's cigarettes, and chomps them while hang-gliding.
Not allowed to use SPECTRE or (thank God) Blofeld any more due to legal reasons, the Bond films from here on in each find a different foe for 007. This time out it's Dr. Kananga, Prime Minister of Caribean island San Monique. He produces heroin and plans to distribute $1 billion worth |
