MLRA Project Office and the
MLRA Concept

The Indiana Soil Survey Program is organized into three Major Land Resource Area (MLRA) Project Service Areas. The Central Indiana Project Office has been established at Indianapolis. The project office is co-located with the MLRA Region 11 office, in the State Office complex, and have as its service area the central part of Indiana.

The Central Indiana MLRA Soil Survey Project Office updates and maintains the soil surveys in 32 counties of central Indiana. We also provide soil information and education to Soil and Water Conservation Districts, County Organizations, Landowners, and others interested in the soil resource.
