STORY ABOUT SHANG TSUNG

After the elder gods created the tournament called Mortal Kombat, chosen warriors with all kind of style competed in it. If outworld manages to win ten times in a row, earth’s existence will be in their hands... For these nine generations Mortal Kombat was ruled by Outworld's finest warrior prins Goro. Shang Tsung, an earth-born servant of Shao Kahn, soon gained the championship of Mortal Kombat. In order to please the emperor, he not only took the lives of his opponents, but their souls as well. After repeated victories in the tournaments to follow, Tsung became over confident before reaching ten victories. Tsung's over confidence proved to be his un-doing as he was defeated by Kung Lao, representing the Shaolin temples.

Shang Tsung returned again, as the host of the first (new) Mortal Kombat tournament. Once again if outworld manages to win ten times in a row, earth’s existence will be in their hands... They already won 9 times... For these nine generations Mortal Kombat was ruled by Outworld's finest warrior prins Goro. The contest will be held on the island fortress of Shang Tsung located in the center of the lost sea. By seizing control of the Shaolin tournament Shang Tsung tried to tip the scales of order towards chaos. Only seven warriors survived the first battles. But after Johnny Cage was able to defeat prins Goro, Shang Tsung had to fight himself. His opponent, the chosen warrior Liu Kang, was too mighty for him. Shang Tsung was finally defeated, and earth was safe once more.

Shang Tsung's scheme in the last tournament came to a violent end at the hands of Liu Kang, one of the seven chosen warriors who survived. Facing his execution for his failure and the apparent death of Goro, Tsung convinces Shao Kahn to grand him a second chance. Shang Tsung's new plan is to lure his enemies to compete in the outworld where they will meet certain death by Shao Kahn himself. Convinced of Tsung's plan Shao Kahn restores Tsung's youth and allows him to live. Even as Tsung's plan worked perfectly, it didn't succeed. Now, in the second (new) Mortal Kombat tournament, Shao Kahn himself was too weak for the earth warrior Liu Kang. Once again was outworld defeated by the new chosen warriors.

Once again, in the third (new) Mortal Kombat tournament, Tsung turns out to be a very dangerous instrument in the attacks from outworld to gain access to earth. With Shang Tsung roaming freely within the realm of earth, the chosen warriors could expect one of his attacks any moment. But even in this situation Tsung wasn't able to defeat the earth warriors, and finds himself defeated once again But now permanently
