Motorkhana is a low-cost form of motorsport, unique to Australia and New Zealand but similar to the autotests held in the UK and Ireland. It involves manoeuvring a car through tight tests as quickly as possible - one car at a time - on either dirt or bitumen surfaces. This usually requires sliding and spinning the car accurately while maintaining speed through the test course. Some reversing is often included. Most competitors use normal road cars like Elliott Barnfather's Ford Laser (upper right). Some use specially built vehicles like David Beames' Mini Cooper S powered Delta S (upper left). This site includes an Australian Motorkhana Calendar of championship and multi-club motorkhanas and other items of interest including lists of State Motorkhana Champions, a History of the Australian Championship and profiles of some current and past motorkhana specials. The NSW Motorkhana Website has a calendar and results for NSW Motorkhanas and Khanacross. The SA Motorkhana Website has photos, video, calendar and results for SA Motorkhanas.
