CAST: Wesley Snipes, Stephen Dorff, Kris Kristofferson, N'Bushe Wright, Donal Logue, Udo Kier, Arly Jover, Traci Lords, Sanaa Lathan, Kevin Patrick Walls, Tim Guinee DIRECTOR: Stephen Norrington STUDIO: New Line Cinema RATING: R RELEASE DATE: August 21, 1998 REVIEW BY CATHERINE KRUMMEY Snipes stars as Blade, a half-vampire, half-man vampire hunter. Ever since the success on TV of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, all the movie people have been trying to recreate what the show has. And, so far, they haven't been successful. The movies get way, way too serious about the vampire stuff, and this movie is a perfect example of that. And while Buffy is a drama show, they still manage to work-in a little good humor every now and then. Kristofferson (Blade's mentor) and Dorff (head evil vampire) co-star in this crappy vampire saga. |
