Spider-man (2002)

Thats right people; I honestly think that this movie deserves a nine so read on
As you can already guess, Peter Parker is a shy high-school nerd who was bitten by a genetically engineered spider during a class trip. The spider bite caused him to be able to shoot webs from his wrist, climb walls and develop a spider sense to warn of incoming danger. Soon he was also joined by the Green Goblin who is angry towards almost everything in the world and it is up to Peter Parker to stop the goblin with his newly acquired power.

Every single aspect about this movie is just awesome so lets start with the acting department first. Peter Parker (played by Tobey Maguire) performed a really convincing role throughout the movie, first from a shy teenager into someone with great powers. Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson also shows a wonderful performance. The two main leads as well as all the other characters e.g. James Franco as Harry Osborn and Willem Dafoe as Norman Osborn performed their respective parts really well because the director Sam Raimi managed to successfully transfer the comic book characters to the big screen.

The plot followed the original Spider-man comic book as created by Stan Lee (thats supposed to be good, by the way). Praise should also go to Sam Raimi for not losing the original Spider-man feel and atmosphere during the transition to the wide screen.
The overall pace of the movie is good with some slight humors here and there as well as a few action scenes to spice up everything at the right moment with slow motion camera shots to make it even more interesting.
The CGI of Spider-man swinging around New York with his web is a great feast to the eyes as well aside from being able to draw the audience into it and I actually feel as if Im flying up there with Spider-man at the time. The special effects although not overly abundant are still a great addition into the battle between Spider-man and the Green Goblin.

Expect a lot of great interaction between characters especially Parker and Mary Jane but also nothing less than the others. Expect a lot of good laughs here and there as well including the special effects plus CGI animation that will make you feel as if youre the Spider-man instead of Tobey Maguire. However, the most important thing will be for you to kick back, relax and enjoy one of the best movies in your lifetime. So what are you waiting for? Get your lazy ass of that couch and go join the masses in your nearest cinema NOW!!!
