Hello! I am Jenny Burris and I look forward to teaching your child to be excited about learning. In our class, we learn together in partners and cooperative groups. Through hands-on activities and experiments, we problem solve and use self-discovery to learn. We incorporate learning styles to meet the strengths of each child. Using learning styles means concepts are taught through visual, auditory, and kinesthetic approaches. I graduated from the University of NC at Greensboro with a Master's Degree in Reading. I taught in my hometown of Currituck, NC as a Reading Specialist and sixth grade teacher until 1995. Since moving to Mooresville, I have taught first and second grades. I am the proud parent of Jarrett and Jonathan and step-mother to Jackie and Josh. Jackie is a police officer in Greensboro, Josh is attending UNCC, Jarrett is in 2nd grade, and Jonathan is in 1st grade. My husband, Jeff, works for Alltel. Besides my love for teaching, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I am a huge sports fan and especially enjoy NASCAR and the NFL (Go Panthers!). I also enjoy reading, going to movies, listening to good music, and going home to the beach. |
