3.  Be prepared for class.

In our classroom, there is a pocket chart with each child's name and five cards for each one of them.

* YELLOW VERY HAPPY FACE
* ORANGE HAPPY FACE
* GREEN STRAIGHT FACE
* BLUE SAD FACE
* PURPLE SAD FACE WITH TEARS

Each day all of the children begin on the yellow card.  When a child's behavior is less than it should be, he or she is asked to pull a card.  At the end of each day, the child's behavior is recorded and sent home in a folder to be signed each night.  At the end of each week, if the child has earned positive behavior faces (very happy or happy), he or she is rewarded with an opportunity to visit the Treasure Chest.  The Treasure Chest is filled with lots of toys, stickers, and candy.  If the behavior has been less than desirable all week, the child does not have the special privilege.
