I can tell you what I do know about our Rushing Line, but it's not very much. Emmaline Dennis married James Rushing, probably in Mississippi and probably about 1881.

	Emeline Rushing is listed in the 1900 St. Tammany Parish Census as a widow, age 35, born November 1865 in Alabama. She is listed as the mother of 8 with six still living...they are: Eddie..... born Oct. 1882 in MS Lemuel...born ? 1886 in MS Julius ...born July 1889 in MS Monroe...Feb. 1891 in LA Carry...July 1895 Bertha...born ? 1898 It also says she worked as a laundress and could read but not write and spoke English. She owned her own home but wasn't mortgage free. The father of the children, said to be James M. Rushing, is listed as being born in Mississippi. The older children are said to be born in or around Ellisville, MS.
