Information about the T.A.K.S. Test
    In Fourth grade we take three Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills Tests (TAKS test).  These tests are based on our state TEKS.  TEKS are Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.  These TEKS are what teachers are required to teach by grade level.  Click here for a link to the 4th Grade TEKS.
   The TAKS measures the statewide curriculum in reading in grades 3 - 9; in writing in grades 4 and 7; in math in grades 3 - 11; English Language Arts in grades 10 and 11; in science in grades 5, 10, and 11; in social studies in grades 8, 10, and 11.  Satisfactory perfomance on the 3rd grade reading is required for promotion.  Satisfactory performance on the 11th grade TAKS test is required for graduation.
     The following is a link for the released TAKS tests. I encourage you to look at all the 4th grade released tests.  Your child can take these tests online for practice.  Released TAKS Tests.
    The dates for our tests are the following; February 24, TAKS writing; April 27, TAKS math, April 28, TAKS reading.
