Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to fourth grade and Room 6.  I am so excited about our new year together.  Fourth grade is such a transition grade; I enjoy teaching it so much.  I am looking forward to getting to know all of you.

One of the biggest differences for this year is the number of students in the class.  We have 32 students enrolled.  I should not have any more than this.  Having more students in the class puts more responsibility on each student, especially to take home papers to communicate with you.  I have attached my Academic and Discipline policies.  Please keep this and read it over.  I will be answering any questions about it on Back to School Night, Friday, September 7.

To help our classroom run smoothly and to keep your child organized, please have your student bring the following items to school each day.

• a binder
• a plastic pencil pouch or box
• pencils
• black or blue ink pen
• a small covered pencil sharpener that catches shavings
• an eraser
• crayons or colored pencils 
• a back pack to hold it all
