"TIMESPAN" has arrived!
So much for all the hype, how then do ten tracks dusted down from the band's archives stand the onslaught of time, more than a quarter of a century later? Considering the original material source - remarkably well! various recordings, mainly in the form of acetates, with the odd tape thrown in for good measure, - then, through the wizardry of digital technology, the use of a high-tech mastering studio, and not least the painstaking efforts of a brilliant engineer - and hey presto, we have a very pleasing collection of mainly original titles for your enjoyment.
Recording
info:- All tracks recorded between 1967 and 1968 exact dates
unknown. Studios used were R.G Jones / Decca / I.B.C. and
Trident.
As these were primarily intended as demos only, the majority are
in their original form (i.e. breathtaking mono) with the
occasional human traits that afflict Homo-sapiens, namely (A)
"mistakes" or (B) "monster cock-up's". All
sessions were self financed therefore overdubbing and special
effects were kept to a minimum, and finally the musicians no.1
rule was applied, namely - 'Time is money, my boys - so get your
fingers out!' However none of which should have adverse effect on
your listening pleasure.
All tracks feature:
BRIAN
BENNETT -
Lead / rhythm guitars and backing vocals. Brian used a Fender
Telecaster and an Echo 6 string acoustic guitar.
ROGER
McCABE - Bass
guitar and backing vocals. Roger used his trusty Hofner
"fiddle" bass (with custom stereo pickups)
GARY
MURPHY - All
drums and percussion. Gary played on both Trixon and Premier kits
using Zildian cymbals
STUART
HOBDAY - Lead
vocals (and even some backing vocals)
All amplification by Marshall (the best)!!
No sixties completist or lover of psychedelia can afford to miss adding this to their collection - a definate must
