American Treasure Hunt
Finding Historical Treasures
Overview

This unique and compelling online project allows students the opportunity to view and collect primary sources or "treasures" in history.  They will be creating an online treasure chest full of documents, pictures and things from history.  In addition, students will also view events that happened today in history and events that are happening today in the present.  They will then compare and contrast these events.

Limited Access Plan

If Internet access becomes unavailable or the computer lab is full, the following back-up plan will be instituted:
1. Students will receive a photocopy of the primary sources that they were to view on the Internet.
2. They will also receive the list of questions that followed each link.  They will fill out the answers to the questions on paper.
3. In small groups, they will discuss their thoughts about the primary sources and the answers to their questions.
4. The class will discuss the responses as a whole.
