Living near Glacier National Park, the Hungry Horse Dam/Reservoir, and a huge expanse of wilderness - I have, deep within me, a driven desire to artistically express the beauty of my surroundings. My expertise includes drawing, painting, decorative painting, design, pen & ink illustrations, and creating many crafts. I paint original designs on ceramic tiles, sawblades, goldpans, and a variety of decorative tole painted items. I worked as an illustrator for Glacier Natural History Association in West Glacier, Montana, for 2 years and have some of my illustrations in books they have published. The books are sold through visitor centers and gift shops within Glacier National Park and the surrounding area. Someday, I hope to complete a few books of my own.
The painting below, "Buildings of Glacier National Park", is a watercolor I painted back in 1988. The painting depicts various buildings on the west side of the Continental Divide within the boundaries of Glacier National Park. Beginning at the top of the painting is the Logan Pass Visitor Center. Along the left side, from top to bottom, is the Apgar Lookout, Camas Creek Entrance Station, Lake McDonald Subdistrict Ranger Office (No longer in existence.), Fish Creek Ranger Station, Apgar Ranger Station, and the West Entrance Station. Along the right side, from top to bottom, is the Avalanche Ranger Station, Lake McDonald Ranger Station, West Lakes District Office, and the Park Headquarters building.
