2.7. Footnotes to The Union of Myanmar national frequency allocation ( Column 4 )

BRM1: Regarding to national regulation, in this band the operation of any radio-communication facilities under the any kind of Amateur services is forbidden until next announcement.

BRM2: Based on an agreement has been made among various relevant responsible departments including broadcasters, the bands 11 600 kHz – 11 650 kHz, in addition to Fixed service on a primary basis, nationally assigned to Land Mobile service on a secondary basis up to 1 April 2007. Any application of this band should not cause harmful interference to, or, claim protection from internationally agreed broadcasting service.

BRM3: In The Union of Myanmar there is not HF broadcaster. Since, based on an agreement has been made among various relevant responsible departments including broadcasters, the bands 15 100-15 800 kHz, 17 550-17 900 kHz, 21 450-21 850 kHz and 25 670-26 100 kHz assigned to Fixed service on a primary basis. Any application of this band is limited to the national needs and should not cause harmful interference to, or, claim protection from internationally agreed broadcasting service.

BRM4: This band considered for the future needs of all or some of the services in this band. Clearly, the right of any modification of available services within this band reserved for Posts and Telecommunications Department (PTD) under the Ministry of Communications, Posts and Telegraphs (MCPT).

BRM5: Currently, in the band 18 780-18 900 kHz there are some Fixed stations which should not cause harmful interference to primary based maritime mobile stations. These stations should be moved or stopped their operation within this band.

BRM6: The frequencies 19 680.5 kHz, 22 376 kHz and 26 100.5 kHz are the international frequencies for the transmission of maritime safety information (MSI) (see Appendix S17). Any usage of the band 19 680-19 800 kHz should not cause harmful interference or claim protection from stations of Maritime Mobile service.

BRM7: Based on an agreement has been made among various relevant responsible departments including broadcasters, the bands 17 480-17 550 kHz assigned to Fixed service on a primary basis up to 1 April 2007 (S5.146). Any application of this band should not cause harmful interference to, or, claim protection from internationally agreed broadcasting service.

BRM8: The band 25 550-25 670 kHz is divided into two subbands 25 550-25 600 kHz and 25 600-25 670 kHz, for Fixed and Radioastronomy services respectively with the aim of covering national needs.

BRM9: Stations of other services to which this band is allocated, are urged to take all practicable steps to protect the primary based radio astronomy service from harmful interference located in the neibour countries which have footnot under this band. Emissions from spaceborne, airborne and broadcsting stations can be particularly serious sources of interference to the radio astronomy service.

BRM10: This band is also designated for industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) applications. Radiocommunication services operating within these bands must accept harmful interference which may be caused by these applications. ISM equipment operating in these bands is subject to the provisions of No. S15.13.

BRM11: Since of very high demand for radio frequency spectrum in The Union of Myanmar for VHF band, usage of the band 50-54 MHz and 144-146 MHz changed to Fixed and Mobile services on a primary basis.

BRM12: The band 87-108 MHz is intended to use by FM (Frequency Modulation) broadcasting operator(s) at near future. Therefore, Fixed and Mobile services using the band 87-100 MHz, with any type of priority, should be stopped or immigrated to other proper parts of the frequency spectrum until 1 August 2003.

BRM13: Not used.

BRM14: Not used.

BRM15: In the band 470-585 MHz, operation of any Fixed and Mobile stations with secondary priority in the populated areas is forbidden.

BRM16: The bands 410-420 MHz and 420-430 MHz are intended for use by Trunk systems (e.g. TETRA trunk system) with taking account the relevant regulatory procedure steps.

BRM17: Not used.

BRM18: The band 806-960 MHz which are allocated to the mobile service on a primary basis and are planned to be used for third generation cellular mobile systems. This identification does not preclude the use of these bands by any application of the services to which they are allocated and does not establish any special priority in the Radio Regulations.

BRM19: The band 820-890 MHz has been used for TETRA trunk system in 820-825/865-870 MHz bands, D-AMPS cellular mobile system in 835-845/880-890 MHz bands and CDMA cellular mobile system in 845-855/870-880 MHz bands.

BRM20: The bands 890-915 MHz and 935-960 MHz have been assigned for GSM900 cellular mobile uplink and downlink respectively.

BRM21: In the assignments may be made in the band 1 690-1 700 MHz, enough care should be taken into account for protection of those services which has been permitted to operate according to the Region3 allocation.

BRM22: The bands 1 710-1 885 MHz and 2 500-2 690 MHz are initially intended bands for using with International Mobile Telecommunication-2000 (IMT2000) exclusively and widly assigned to some operators in many countries. Therefore in The Union of Myanmar, these band are first candidate to deploying stand-alone third generation cellular mobile system.

BRM23: This band also intended to use by DCS1800 (GSM1800) cellular mobile system in 1 710-1 785 MHz and 1 805-1 880 MHz sub-bands under the Mobile service allocation.

BRM24: In this band Digitally Enhanced Cordless Telephony (DECT) system can be assigned within 1 880-1 900 MHz sub-band.

BRM25: All Fixed and Mobile service stations should keep minimum protection distance and requirements from existing Earth-exploration stations via satellite.

BRM26: The bands 2 300-2 450 MHz, 2 450-2.483.5 MHz and 2 483.5-2 500 MHz widely used for short range low power communication systems.

BRM27: Developing of new trans-horizon tropospheric scatter fixed radio link within the band 2 500-2 690 MHz prohibited and existing systems should be developed.

BRM28: Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) systems may be allowed to operate in the band 3 809-3 818 on a primary basis. In addition, in this band Earth station on board (Vessel) can be operated on a secondary basis.

BRM29: In this band, frequency assignment for Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) systems may be made in the sub-band 6 034-6 043 MHz.

BRM30: In The Union of Myanamar the band 10.45-10.5 GHz also atended to use by Fixed and Mobile services on a primary basis subject to meeting frequency band sharing requirement among other existing services in these bands acoording to Region 3 allocation plan.

BRM31: Using Fixed and Mobile stations in the band 29.5-29.9 GHz shall not cause harmful interference to feeder link of Fixed Satellite Service.

BRM32: Not used.

BRM33: Not used.

BRM34: In Myanmar the allocation to the fixed service in the band 27.5‑28.35 GHz may also be used by high altitude platform stations (HAPS). The use of the band 27.5‑28.35 GHz by HAPS is limited to operation in the HAPS-to-ground direction and shall not cause harmful interference to, nor claim protection from, other types of fixed-service systems or other co-primary services.

BRM35: In Myanmar the allocation to the fixed service in the band 31-31.3 GHz may also be used by high altitude platform stations (HAPS) in the ground-to-HAPS direction. The use of the band 31-31.3 GHz by systems using HAPS shall not cause harmful interference to, nor claim protection from, other types of fixed-service systems or other co-primary services, taking into account No. S5.545. The use of HAPS in the band 31-31.3 GHz shall not cause harmful interference to the passive services having a primary allocation in the band 31.3-31.8 GHz, taking into account the interference criteria given in Recommendations ITU-R SA.1029 and ITU-R RA.769. The administrations of the countries listed above are urged to limit the deployment of HAPS in the band 31-31.3 GHz to the lower half of this band (31-31.15 GHz) until WRC-03.

BRM36: All stations in services except Broadcasting service opereating in the band 13 570-13 600 kHz should be stopped or moved to the other proper part of the frequency spectrum until 1 April 2007.
