Well, the time unfortunately came to get rid of my good ole Dodge Ram V10. She was getting old and high up in the mileage and she was getting to expensive to keep full of gas. On April 8th, 2005, I finally made the final decision to sign the paperwork to buy a new car that was good on gas. Here is the result of that decision, a brand new 2005 Hyundai Elantra GT 5-Door hatchback. My first instinct was to go with a Dodge Neon, but because I had not been paying on my truck for long enough to negate any negative equity that I had in the truck, I was unable to get financed for it. Looking back on this, that was a good thing. I believe that I was able to end up getting a much better car with more equipment for the money. The Elantra has leather seats, power locks, power windows, power mirrors, a CD player, a trip computer, leather wrapped steering wheel, leather wrapped shifter knob, embroidered front floor mats, and an automatic transmission(even though I would have preffered a manual). The Neon that I would have been able to get for the same price was a base model SE with absolutely no options. This is my first import car, my first 4-cylinder, my first hatchback, and my first brand new car. I've never been much on the import cars, even though I have had some interest in them. Now, I don't think I could be happier with my purchase. Currently, she's bone stock. In the near future, I plan on adding upgrades that I hope will not void the warranty on the car. These include upgrades such as a cold air intake, aftermarket exhaust, and a better stereo. Farther of upgrades include a full body kit, aluminum spoiler, better wheels and tires, a turbo or supercharger, and other upgrades.
