Born August 2, 1994
Called to Our Lord July 21, 1998
Our little angel will always be,
A precious gift and memory
Our time has been brief, our hours few,
to make and mould a life that's new
But through the tears and burdens great,
our prayers for strength will emanate.
A glimmer of hope will show the way,
for us to go on from day to day.
Our beautiful, perfect son suffered a severe brain injury as a result of a lack of oxygen, from the accident. We took him home, when he was released from the hospital, and he lived for almost two and a half years. July 21,1998 Christopher's body stopped fighting for his life. He was released from the pain and suffering that had become his life. He is now resting in a better place, HEAVEN.
I have thought back to that day in March over and over in my mind, always asking the questions, WHY?... What if?... and If I had?... I do not think we can ever truely know the answers to these questions. I do know that even as short as his life was, he touched everyone he ever came into contact with in a very special way. He taught us all the true meaning of unconditional love. Our lives have been forever changed because of him. Not only because of the pain of losing him, but he has taught me to love others and has given me the desire to want to help other people who have lost a child.
I cannot begin to explain the depth of this pain but I do know, from my experience, that we truly can go on long after we think we cannot. I celebrate my son's life. I choose to keep his memory alive. I am truly blessed to have known and loved my Christopher.
