Clean sweep for Waston"s team in Festival of Sport
Hong Kong Waston's Athletic Club's top athletes yesterday turned up the pace to give the club a comprehensive win in both the men's and women's competitions of the season's Annual Festival of Sport Inter Club Athletic Championships held at Wan Chi Sports Ground, writes Mike Field
The WAC men's squad scored an easy 73-point win over nearest rival Citizen Athletic Association while the club's women's team were given a much harder fight by TCAA,winning by just 19 points.
The best individual performance came from WAC's Macau-based international sprinter Li Vai Kuen who blazed home in the men's 400 metres to clock 48"11seconds which easily bettered the existing Hong Kong Amateur Athletic association record of 48"27 set by TCAA's Mario Chau two years ago.
