| When I first started clan Mysteria, I originally decided to create a clan where incoming members became, "instant leaders." After being assigned a squad number, they would simply start recruiting members for their squad. I had hoped this feeling of importance would spawn pride and ambition throughout the clan and the end result being Mysteria becoming the largest clan ever. However, if I had only known the chaos that was to follow, I would've done things quite differently from the beginning... You see, by just handing out leadership to new members without first getting to know them or giving them a chance to earn and properly appreciate this trust, choas and confusion spread throughout the clan and people just left. Leaders consistently demonstrate loyalty, honor, and ambition that expands beyond individuality to consider the skills and aspirations of others. Although the possibility of changing this hysteria into a consistently active and stable gaming clan seemed a mystery to me at the time, I didn't give up. I located two members still wanted to keep Mysteria going. I then downloaded the best bot. I could find and used it within channel: clan Mysteria for moderation and rank maintenance. The Command Council was formed, and I started working on the new clan website and ranking system. This new ranking system would seperate members into four castes which would be responsible for different functions within the clan: Warrior, Warrior-Elite, Ranger (recruiting) and Mystic(bots, website).. Before long, Mysteria had accumulated over a hundred members-four times as many as before. During this era of succession, I was told that our clan tag [M] was being used by Maurauders clan. Although, their clan leaders didn't seem to have a problem sharing the tag, I decided to change our clan tag to a small [m] to eliminate any confusion. Forunately, members were able to uncapitalize the tag without creating new accounts. Presently, there are two channels: clan Mysteria and clan Mysteria.-2nd channel is same except for . at the end and it's used mostly for checking information and private conversations (this way chat in the main channel is uninterrupted). With plans of consistency and commitment already set into motion, Mysteria was well on it's way to becoming a huge gaming clan to be proud of. Ranks became less specific, the number of castes was increased from four to nine and leadership is defined by the Castes in this order: Mystic, Assassination-Elite, Assassination, Ranger-Elite, Ranger, WarLord, Warrior-Elite, Warrior and Warrior-Ascension (new members get put into this caste until skills are assessed and they're added to the Rankings page. Promotions to a higher caste is mainly based on attitude, skill and strategy in StarCraft, BroodWar, or WarCraft III. Later, I also decided create a place where members can ask questions or post comments. Becoming a loyal, active member is something we'd like to encourage in Mysteria-that's why if members are inactive for more than a month, or compromise clan Mysteria in some way through dis-loyal actions, such members would get to join the out-caste. |
