*Play Time*
Summer is my favourite time of the year.  I enjoy being in the outdoors, especially the country.  Hiking in the nearby National and Provincial parks are a favourite pasttime.  The solitude of the forest and the magical qualities of nature are music to me.

Camping is something I look forward to every summer, whether it be close to or far from home.  Mornings are magical....the birds singing, the chill of the morning air, drinking that first cup of coffee in the glow of the sun rising.

Afternoons are for hiking, taking a lunch and following the lakeshore to a secluded spot.  The sun shining down, warm on my face and back, is relaxing.  I love to sit and look across the lake, daydreaming.  Some afternoons, or after hiking, I relax on the beach.  I prefer a quiet place, with few other people around me.  I become energized in the sunlight.

Evenings are for long walks on the beach, or canoeing when the heat of the day has subsided.  When sunset is lingering and the loons are calling across the lake, I feel a peace I feel no where else.  I take my sandals off and walk barefoot in the sand, sometimes walking in the water, ankle deep.

This is nature.. this is beauty.. this is peace.
Grand Canyon, summer of '93.
I loved racing dirt track modifieds.  My husband built our cars and we both raced.  We had two cars.  We raced locally and were both involved on our club's executive for a number of years.  I raced from '93 through '97 and my husband raced from '93 through '96.  Unfortunately, it is an expensive hobby and with our children reaching their teens and their activities, we found we could no longer put the time and money into this invigorating hobby..

Below are some photos of the cars.
