Oracle Standy Tool does not use OracleNet to transfer log file. This bypasses the complicity of OracleNet and make Oracle Standby Tool works with both Oracle Enterprise Edition and Oracle Standard Edition.

Network down? Need to shutdown Oracle instance? No problem, after you bring them up Oracle Standby Tool�s agents program will automaticly resume log shipping and applying work.

Oracle Standby Tool ships log file to standby site asynchronously, it can ship log file over WAN without impact primary performance.

You can create as much standby databases as you want.

2005-10-11:Sdded these changes. a) Now the standby database is created according to OFA standard. b) Added a password wrapper so password won't be stored as plain text in property file. Currently these features are only available on Windows.
