The Story: In this dark and disturbing psychological thriller, Ellie Christianson (Julia) is the stereotypically rebellious teenager, constantly threatening to leave her dysfunctional family home. Her father (Moses) is cheating on his wife with the nanny, while her mother is having an affair with the next door neighbour whose wife has just left him. Amongst all this chaos, Ellie harbours a twisted desire to play house and become her father's partner. When her cheating mother mysteriously turns up dead, bludgeoned to death by one of several community suspects, Ellie has the perfect chance to step into her mother's shoes literally.  
�It's a fantastic character. I want to do more parts like that. I constantly want to shock people. I'd much rather do a risky, groundbreaking movie than one that's ambivalent. The key is to first shock people, then make them like it." When asked what she is most proud of in her career thus far by MovieMaker magazine in 2000: "Wicked, which is all the more painful because I have no idea what is going on with it (The film was not released until 2001). Just because I was the most fearless making that movie, the most eager, the most dedicated, the most naive, the most trusting" (of Michael Steinberg, director).
Did You Know? Wicked was Julia's first starring role. Julia beat a host of actresses for the role of Ellie, including Katie Holmes and Rachel Leigh Cook.
