Appropriate technology is a notion that has been in circulation for some time. It is often used as a synonym for "civilian technology." It can also mean technology with small environmental impact, socially relevant technology, or technology that serves humyn needs, and well.
If the PubWan movement ever gets off the ground in a sufficiently big way, it will be a virtual facility of technology development, as well as of course empirical research. Since the movement is founded upon principles (see WhatIsPubwan), the question of whether technologies used or developed in the course of PubwanActivity are indeed appropriate, is appropriate.
