PubWan is nominally a platform for consumer activism. Consumer activism is often seen as the antithesis of salescrittership (salesmanship). This may be an unfair characterization, both of pubwan and of sales. Nevertheless, a primary goal of pubwan is to create an alternative informational infrastructure sufficiently strong to cut through the more egregious aspects of the art of the sale. The pubwan movement need be no friend of those who deliberately disinform or even confuse the public. Our mission is the deconstruction, and hopefully reverse engineering, of nonlinear pricing policies, selective advertising of product specifications, boilerplate contracts and disinformation strategies in general. Salescrittership in the best sense of the word is, of course, admired.
