The Facts of Life spun of Diff'rent Strokes and made its debuted on August 24th 1979. In the begining the ratings were low and the producers and directors decided to drop five of the original cast members and add a streetwise girl from the Bronx. They couldn't have been any happier with the changes that made the show a success. In the late '80's NBC was once again the number one network, but in September of 1988 the show that had kept the network afoat was cancelled.
