Working for  Ocean Energy Mission,

1 KW laboratory model OCEAN THERMAL ENERGY CONVERSION (OTEC) plant

A 1kW OTEC laboratory model pilot power plant test facility  designed ,  developed and built at NIOT campus. This system comprises of  Elsag Bailey supplied Freelance 2000 SCADA system. With 200 points analog & digital Input channels to monitor and control  the various process parameters. Around 10 pages of graphics page and 15 pages of  control  strategy.

1 MW Barge mounted demonstration OTEC power plant

Involved in the design, procurement, erection and  pre-commissioning trials of worlds first  barge mounted 1MW  OTEC power plant .  The work involving detailed engineering , selection, finalizing the various major equipment, tender specification preparation, factory inspection,  erection , pre- commissioning tests etc., Major concentration towards the SCADA for Process control , Electrical, Instrumentation & control.

§ Implementation of Tata Honeywell make Plantscape based control system.

§ Development of Front end  display builder, control builder for the entire Power plant.

§ Completed the  Factory acceptance test for the  Distributed control system (DCS) 

§ .Sea water pumps for warm & cold water ( 200 KW & 180 KW respectively) and ammonia pump ( 45 KW ). Variable speed  drive controller  for warm sea water, cold sea water ( 200 KW each) and ammonia pumps( 45 KW).

§ Motor control centers  comprising of feeder breakers, synchronizing Systems between the TG set and the DG set, .motor starters, switch fuse unit isolators for the various electrical utilities .

§ Motor operated Valves  both on/off and instrument responsive (4-20mA)  for the process requirements  with dedicated  valve actuator control panel, setting of torque and limit switches.

§ 750 kVA DG set for the initial startup of the plant equipment till the power stabilized  power generation by OTEC turbo generator.

§ Chlorine dosing systems for bio fouling control of heat exchanger. Comprising dosing pump, online analyser with pH compensation.

§ Procurement of  Acoustic releases meant for retrieval of Cold water pipe and Under water Swivels for single point mooring system, rubber bellows etc..,

§         Other Project  related activities as follows:

§  3D-Model creation in Intergraph Plant design system software (PDS) for the actual barge mounted plant layout.

§ Complete documentation of the design drawings, specifications, test data sheet, erection report., manufacturer test reports etc..,

§ Successfully completed the training on Instrument Software Applications (Modicon PLC, DCS & Intellution SCADA), from Pentasoft, India.

§         Handled projects in the Arabian OIL Company Ltd., SAUDI ARABIA. Successfully completed the SR 20M contract comprises of complete engineering, erection and commissioning of Crude storage and its associated utilities, like, 600 HP 2.5 kV crude transfer pumps, 100 HP 480 volts dewatering pumps, tank gauging systems, flow measuring systems, many motorized valves, control valves.
