Assignment 6
Week 3 Activities
The Report
The Report is to be completed over two weeks.  During this stage you will use the time-tabled sessions to complete this work.  Use the theory sessions to ask questions and formalise ideas.  Group discussion is encouraged BUT each Report must be individually produced.

Practical sessions are used to complete the spreadsheet analysis and Report writing.  Make sure that your work is your own.  Include in the Report all the research that you have undertaken.  Include all rough work and group notes, these will be expected in the Report.

Info & Data sessions are to be used to create your hand drawn graphs.  Graph paper is available for you to use.  Remember to give headings to all the graphs and label all the important elements.  You work must have your name on it.
The Graphs
Your graphs need to be accurately drawn.  Make sure your name is on each one; do not put it on the back!  All parts need to have a label.  Each axis needs to have the divisions clearly shown.

You are required to show the floor plan of the room that will accommodate the 10 staff.  This will show the area of the building.  Make sure it is drawn to scale with the ratio shown on the graph.

You will also need to draw the building and indicate the volume that it will occupy.  You will already have the figures produced from your spreadsheet analysis.  Remember you will need to calculate the acceptable range of volume required based upon your analysis of the data.

Your cumulative frequency graph should provide you with this information.  How do you calculate these figures in the first place?  What is the smallest volume an individual will occupy, based upon your measurements and what is the largest.  Think in terms of height, overall width and reach.
You already have the figures for the Health & Safety directive from the government.  Do the calculations exceed these figures?

Remember, that the height for an industrial building must be 3m at least and 3.4m ideally.  Use these figures to help you draw the graphs and scale drawings.
