This is #174 in the Praise and Worship Series.
Introduction: This is beginning a new series on Praise and Worship. Today we begin to see the Biblical ways to praise and to worship God. Remember now, these are not ways written in secular books, but in the infallible Word of God.
I. Praise is primarily the expression of admiration and approval.
B. The purest forms of praise are not thanks and gratitude.
1. They are expressions of admiration and adoration to God.
II. Worship of God is extolling of His person.
1. It is for who and what He is, rather than for what He has done.
1. At home alone, go ahead and shout.
D. NOW WE ARE ALL TOGETHER, LET'S SHOUT UNTO THE LORD!
IV. Praising God with the voice.
B. David was constantly speaking forth the praises of God.
A. Thanksgiving = Expressions of gratitude.
1. Giving thanks for favors, blessing received.
2. So, praise and thanksgiving are linked together.
2. This is irrespective of whether or not favors have been received.
3. This should be called WORSHIP.
A. Adoration = of His person, character, attributes and perfection.
III. Vocal expressions of praise and worship.
2. Psalm 29:2, 2 Chronicles 20:21
A. There are many ways to express our praise to God.
1. There are approximately 14 ways we will discuss in praise and worship.
B. IF == Have you felt within your spirit a praise but could not release?
2. I believe God desires each Christian to be free to praise.
3. Being free in one's spirit to praise God in all the ways in the Bible.
1. BUT = You were not free to give over to the prompting of the Spirit.
C. For example == You are studying the references on SHOUTING.
2. Study on what the Bible has to say about praise.
3. Prayerfully consider what the Word instructs us to do.
4. This doesn't sound scriptural, but PRACTICE PRAISE.
a. Don't we practice the choruses we sing?
2 When we obey, there comes a tremendous release.
3. It will set you free within.
4. This is what obedience to God does.
5. Now you are beginning to praise God as He has so ordained you to do.
A. Psalm 26:7, Psalm 42:4, Psalm 71:23-24
Conclusion: When we begin to praise the Lord according to the Bible, new avenues of service will open to us. Praise opens the river of blessing and will cause each of us to desire to serve Him, love Him even more than ever before.

C. Cultivate a habit of talking about the Lord.
1. About His wonderful works.
D. Employ your lips, your mouth as instruments of praise.
2. Begin each day by speaking forth praises to God.
3. Tell God how wonderful He is, and how much we love Him.
4. Thank Him for a new day.
5. Thank Him for His presence with you all day.
1. As we have employed instruments, praise will become a habit.
