Our
Deliverance

John 3:1-9
Introduction: Up to now we have dwelt mostly with sin. John made it clear in the first verse that the born again believer was a Child of God. We understand now that the transgression of God’s law is sin and is what separates us from God. Today we will have a chance to shout.
A. Jesus, the Son of God came to earth to take away our sins
B. We ask, how is this possible?
1. How is it possible for Christ to actually remove our sins?
2. To take them away so God can accept us
3. By His living a sinless life, “in Him is no sin” = Vs 5
C. When Jesus came to earth as Man
1. He lived a sinless life
2. He was perfectly righteous
3. He was the very embodiment of righteousness
D. He secured the perfect and ideal righteousness
1. He was the perfect and ideal man
2. What ever Jesus did was a cover for man
E. What does this mean?
1. When Christ died
2. His death was the perfect sacrifice for sin
3. God was able to accept His death as the Perfect Sacrifice for sins
4. His Blood covered all our sins
A. When we really believe in Jesus Christ
1. God counts the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for us
2. God no longer sees our sins
3. Jesus Christ took them and died for them
4. They are removed from us [for as the east is from the west]
a. Hebrews 10:16-17
5. We are counted free from sin
B. Our sins are gone, Jesus took them upon Himself
1. He died for those sins
2. Now, being free from sin, we are acceptable to God
Thought: This is the great love of God for man, the giving of His Son to die for the sins of man. If a person truly loves God, then that person bows in humble adoration before God’s Son. The person loves God because God sacrificed His own Son in order to save man. This is the test of our love for God: Have we turned from sin to God’s son?

Conclusion: Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe, sin had left a crimson stain, but Jesus’ Blood washed it white as snow. Glory, what deliverance for us! Jesus paid it all for us, now we are to accept that free gift and be saved.
