Daal fall 1 short of White's Save record
(10-5-09) Sean Daal seemed to be on track to surpass the great record of 100 saves by Scott White. Then last season of 6-9 slowed down the feat, and this season Sean Daal annouced he would retire after this season. On Sunday he had one chance to tie Scott White, and fell short, and will end one save at 99 total.
Downey one win from 2nd to reach 40W's
(9-1-09) Larry Downey could be the biggest name coach in league history, as he not the first to reach 40 wins, but was the first official named coach to win a Kings Cup trophy in 11.0, and has had back to back 14-1 record seasons. At one point in his career he had a record of 28-2! Downey faces off against LA, which is in a big favor for San Jose to take the win, and give Downey his 40th victory, trailing only one win behind legendary April Mulberry of New Orleans. |
