Here are some search engines that work well:

Dogpile
Webcrawler
Hotbot
Ask Jeeves
When Searching:
*use quotation marks (" ")
*use words such as: and, or, not to narrow results
*write the question of what you're looking for, pick out the nouns and use those as keywords
Some Ways to Check For a Credible Website:
*Accuracy: Is the info verifiabe, correct, and true?
*Authority: Is the source biased in any way? Is the website a .com, .edu, .gov, .org?
*Objectivity: What is the purpose of the site?  What kind of advertising is there?
*Currency: How updated is the site?
*Coverage: Is the information appropriate? Are there relevant links and do they work?
