Life is boring without my slugs, so I have decided to adopt some new ones. In the yard I found a large leopard and a batch of eggs near him, so I decided I would talk them in.
My mother found another good sized slug while she was gardening. I have affectionatly named him snot.
I have baby slugs!!!!!!!!!!!!! I collectively refer to them as the flemmlings.
I have been feeding my slugs carrots for a long time so I thought'd give them a little variety in their diet. I read that they like bananas, so I figured I'd try it. They didn't seem to care for it though, as they left it practically untouched. So instead I gave them some lettuce, which they enjoyed.

30 December 2005: Snot is dead. I went out to check on him and he was kind of half buried, and when I picked him up he didn't react at all. He had been shrinking in size for the past couple days, but I figured it was dehydration.
3 January 2006: I brought Snot to school in hopes of preforming an autopsy on him later this week. |
