Lorrie Fair was excited when informed this week that she is the first soccer player from the Central Coast Section to repeat as a Parade magazine high school All-American.

But the former Los Altos High star was ecstatic when told that her twin sister, Ronnie, and close friend Regina Holan also were selected.

Ronnie Fair is a midfielder-defender for Los Altos. Holan played this season as a forward at Homestead. The 36-member All-America team, selected by college and U.S. national-team coaches, will be published Sunday in Parade, a supplement of the Mercury News.

''I'm happier for Ronnie and Reggie than I am for myself,'' said Lorrie Fair, a midfielder-defender who started the season with Los Altos in December but left school in January for six-plus months of trying out for the U.S. Olympic team in Florida.

''It was more special for me last year because I was a Parade All-American for the first time. It is nice to be the first player from CCS to be chosen twice, though.''

Headed for North Carolina on a soccer scholarship, Lorrie Fair is completing units for her high school diploma while training with the Olympic team.

Ronnie Fair, voted the CCS player of the year last season, and Holan, a member of the U.S. under-20 national team, have accepted soccer scholarships from Stanford and Portland, respectively.

''I've wanted to be a Parade All-American,'' Ronnie Fair said. ''But I really didn't expect it.''

Holan said: ''I thought it could happen, but you never know. I'm excited by this. It's something I've worked very hard for.''

The Fairs and Holan played on the Roadrunners club team that won the U.S. Youth Soccer Association national under-16 championship in 1994.

Seventeen players from the CCS - 12 boys and five girls - have been Parade All-Americans. The magazine began its boys teams in 1979, the girls in 1993.

This is the first time three CCS players were chosen in the same year.

The Fairs were the second set of twins from the section to become Parade All-Americans in the same season. Todd and Tom Rafalovich from Saratoga were on the 1981-'82 team. Todd was a forward, Tom a defender.
