By A Thread ===========
Life hangs by a thread. A simple snap and we're dead.
All of our money, fortune and fame,
That same little thread holds it again.
We think we are secure in the strength of our might,
When we have not the power to even last the night.
Our fate and our destiny is guided for sure
By the One who gave the rules, we make the detour.
If only we realize it is not by our wits,
That we survive, even prosper, it is because He permits.
It's only a thread that holds us up
But a thread is like steel, when we've drank from the cup.
The cup of life made available to all
Hanging by a thread, yet secured from a fall.

Is it that time already? Could school be just around the corner? Doesn't the summer fly by! Good luck to all those heading back, and congratulations to those that will be graduating next year. Remember to keep God foremost in all you do this school year, He will lead you in the path you need to take.
Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. Act 2:47 We had Bro. Richard and Virginia Olney come down Sunday night and join our church. We praise God for bringing them to us and showing them the home they have found here. Extend a warm handshake next time you see them.
Congratulations are instore!!! Bro. Tim announced from the pulpit that Bro. Craig and Amanda Henry are expecting a baby on Feb. 9th! What wonderful news! Someone for little Alli to play with! Lo, children are a heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate. Psa 127:3-5 Speaking of announcements and baby's, Bro. Jon and Jessica are the proud parents of a baby girl, Sara Nicole, born on July 25th, the same birthday as Uncle Jason! We congratulate these young couples and pray that God's guidence remains in their lives and the lives of these children.

Christ Sometimes Delays His Help
by Mrs. Charles E. Cowman

"I called upon him, but he gave me no answer" (S. of Sol. 5:6).

The Lord, when He hath given great faith, hath been known to try it by long delayings. He has suffered His servants' voices to echo in their ears as from a brazen sky. They have knocked at the golden gate, but it has remained unmovable, as though it were rusted upon its hinges. Like Jeremiah, they have cried, "Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through." Thus have true saints continued long in patient waiting without reply, not because their prayers were not vehement, nor because they were unaccepted, but because it so pleased Him who is a Sovereign, and who gives according to His own pleasure. If it pleases Him to bid our patience exercise itself, shall He not do as He will with His own!

No prayer is lost. Praying breath was never spent in vain. There is no such thing as prayer unanswered or unnoticed by God, and some things that we count refusals or denials are simply delays. --H. Bonar

Christ sometimes delays His help that He may try our faith and quicken our prayers. The boat may be covered with the waves, and He sleeps on; but He will wake up before it sinks. He sleeps, but He never oversleeps; and there are no "too lates" with Him. --Alexander Maclaren

Be still, sad soul! lift thou no passionate cry,
But spread the desert of thy being bare
To the full searching of the All-seeing eye;
Wait! and through dark misgiving, black despair,
God will come down in pity, and fill the dry
Dead place with light, and life, and vernal air.
