December 2004

Well, Christmas is upon us, I hope everyone is ready or will be soon. Remember, as Bro. Tim says, "Relax, don't over stress yourself, put it in neutral." Sister Judy would like for me to inform everyone to be sure and stop in the foyer, she will be giving out "hugs and kisses" this year. Hat Sunday is going to be on the 12th, it's Christmas time, so wear your very best! But remember when you put on that "sparkly" that we should sparkle for God even more. Remember to keep Hin first in your heart and the rest will just fall in line. What greater a gift could someone give you, but to give up their life so you could have life everlasting, all you need do is accept the gift.
How wonderful was it to see Conner Kinsey going down to accept Jesus as his Lord and Saviour! won't it be wonderful when we arrive to our heavenly home and see all our loved ones that have gone on before and to know that others will follow us there.
Some answers to questions you may have aboout our church. Church membership: If God has lead you to our church and you know it is His will for you to join, all you need to do is come forward after any service.
Taking up of the offering: Any male member of the church may involve themselves in this. Just go up to the front when it's time.
Joining the choir: If you would like to be a part of the choir, please just come on! There aren't any auditions, or special things you have to do to be part of this. If you have any other questions, please just see any member of the church, if we don't have the answer, we will get it for you.
Everyone have a wonderful, safe holiday! Remember, JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!

The Lord's Times
by Mrs. Charles E. Cowman

"Thou makest the outgoing of the morning and evening to rejoice" (Ps. 65:8).

Get up early and go to the mountain and watch God make a morning. The dull gray will give way as God pushes the sun towards the horizon, and there will be tints and hues of every shade, that will blend into one perfect light as the full-orbed sun bursts into view. As the King of day moves forth majestically, flooding the earth and every lowly vale, listen to the music of heaven's choir as it sings of the majesty of God and the glory of the morning."

In the holy hush of the early dawn
I hear a Voice
"I am with you all the day,
Rejoice! Rejoice!"

"In the early morning hours,
'Twixt the night and day,
While from earth the darkness passes
Silently away;

"Then 'tis sweet to talk with Jesus
In thy chamber still
For the coming day and duties
Ask to know His will.

"Then He'll lead the way before you,
Mountains laying low;
Making desert places blossom,
Sweet'ning Marah's flow.

"Would you know this life of triumph,
Victory all the way?
Then put God in the beginning
Of each coming day."

Diary of a Bible
January: A busy time for me. Most of the family decided to read me through this year. They kept me busy for the first two weeks, but they have forgotten me now.
February: Clean-up time. I was dusted yesterday and put back in my place. My owner did use me for a few minutes last week. He had been in an argument and was looking up some references to prove he was right.
March: Had a busy day first of the month. My owner was elected president of the PTA and used me to prepare for a speech.
April: Grandpa visited us this month. He kept me on his lap for an hour reading 1 Cor. 13. He seems to think more of me than do some people in my own household.
May: I have a few green stains on my pages. Some spring flowers were pressed in my pages.
June: I look like a scrapbook. They have stuffed me full of newspaper clippings- one of the girls was married.
July: They put me in a suitcase today. I guess we are off on vacation. I wish I could stay home; I know I'll be closed up in this thing for at least two weeks.
August: Still in the suitcase.
September: Back home at last and in my old familiar place. I have a lot of company. Two women's magazine's and four comic books are stacked on top of me. I wish I could be read as much as they are.
October: They read me a little bit today. One of them is sick. Right now I am sitting in the center of the coffee table. I think that the Pastor is coming by for a visit.
November: Back in my old place. Somebody asked today if I were a scrapbook.
December: The family is busy getting ready for the holidays. I guess I'll be covered up under wrapping paper and packages again.... just as I am every Christmas.
"I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me." Psalm 119:93
