Planting a Garden
When you plant this garden, may God richly bless you in your sincere endeavor.
Plant three rows of squash:
1.. Squash gossip
2.. Squash criticism
3.. Squash indifference
Plant seven rows of peas:
1.. Prayer
2.. Promptness
3.. Perseverance
4.. Politeness
5.. Preparedness
6.. Purity
7.. Patience
Plant seven heads of lettuce:
1.. Let us be unselfish and loyal
2.. Let us be faithful to duty
3.. Let us search the scriptures
4.. Let us not be weary in well doing
5.. Let us be obedient in all things
6.. Let us be truthful
7.. Let us love one another
No garden is complete without turnips:
1.. Turn up for church
2.. Turn up for meetings, in prayer, and Bible study
3.. Turn up with a smile, even when things are difficult
4.. Turn up with determination to do your best in God's service.
After planting, may you grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (II Peter 3:18.)
And may you reap rich results.

Does it seem possible that we are beginning the third month of the year? My, how time is already passing so quickly. Did you make a resolution for the year? Have you been attempting to keep it? February was a pretty quiet month here at Jordan. Bro. Charles and I are so pleased to announce the birth of our third grandchild, Brianah Renea, on Feb. 20th. Keep in mind the Hinkle Family as they travel all over the country bringing God's message to those in need. It won't be long now till we meet with them again. Wonder if Bro. Kenneth will have any special requests for them. It will be wonderful to see them again.
We have a new system for housing Bro. Tim's sermons. Thanks to Bro. Dalton for bringing special holders so we can catalog them and make it easier to find the tape you need. We have a good method of sharing God's word through these tapes, if we only just take the time to give them to people.

The Blessing of the Lion
by Mrs. Charles E. Cowman

"And there came a lion" (1 Sam. 17:34).

It is a source of inspiration and strength to come in touch with the youthful David, trusting God. Through faith in God he conquered a lion and a bear, and afterwards overthrew the mighty Goliath. When that lion came to despoil that flock, it came as a wondrous opportunity to David. If he had failed or faltered he would have missed God's opportunity for him and probably would never have come to be God's chosen king of Israel. "And there came a lion."

One would not think that a lion was a special blessing from God; one would think that only an occasion of alarm. The lion was God's opportunity in disguise. Every difficulty that presents itself to us, if we receive it in the right way, is God's opportunity. Every temptation that comes is God's opportunity.

When the "lion" comes, recognize it as God's opportunity no matter how rough the exterior. The very tabernacle of God was covered with badgers' skins and goats' hair; one would not think there would be any glory there. The Shekinah of God was manifest under that kind of covering. May God open our eyes to see Him, whether in temptations, trials, dangers, or misfortunes.
