The Center Of The Bible

What is the shortest chapter in the Bible? Answer - Psalms 117
What is the longest chapter in the Bible? Answer - Psalms 119
Which chapter is in the center of the Bible? Answer - Psalms 118
There are 594 chapters before Psalms 118. There are 594 chapters after Psalms 118. Add up the 594 plus 594, and you get 1188.
What is the center verse in the Bible? Answer - Psalms 118:8 Does this verse say something significant about God's perfect will for our lives? The next time someone says they would like to find God's perfect will for their lives and that they want to be in the center of His will, just send them to the center of His Word! Psalms 118:8 (KJV) "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. "
Now isn't it amazing how this worked out (or was God in the center of it)?

Last year I replaced several windows in my house. They were the expensive double-insulated energy efficient windows. This week I got a call from the contractor complaining that the work has been done for a year and I had failed to pay for them. Boy, oh boy, did we go round and round. I told him no one pulls a fast one on this ol' lady. Even though I am a senior citizen and used to be a blonde, doesn't automatically mean that I am stupid!
I proceeded to tell him just what his salesman told me last year: " In one year they will pay for themselves."

What a wonderful turnout we had for Easter. Alot of friends and family came to hear God's message for them. We even saw a few Easter bonnets in the audience. What a treat! If any ladies are interested, Sister Judy and Sister Jean have offered you to wear a hat on Mother's Day, May 11. Let's all remember our mothers, whether here with us now, or those that have passed on to glory before us. They are special people in our lives, and can never be replaced. Remember Memorial Day on May 26, if you travel be very careful on this weekend. Keep your hedge! Hope you have a safe and happy weekend.
Jordan would like to welcome our lastest member, Amanda McCoy. Amanda was saved March 22, and baptised on the 27th of April. We will keep you in our prayers for you to grow strong in the Lord and find the path He has instore for you. Please feel free to ask any member for any assistance you might need, we are your brothers and sisters in Christ and take that respondsibility very seriously.
Don't forget the Hinkles are coming!! It's looking like they will be here July 11 and 12. Keep them in your prayers, and pray that they will be able to come for a visit then.

Costly Glory
by Mrs. Charles E. Cowman

"Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things" (Phil. 3:8.

Shining is always costly. Light comes only at the cost of that which produces it. An unlit candle does no shining. Burning must come before shining. We cannot be of great use to others without cost to ourselves. Burning suggests suffering. We shrink from pain.

We are apt to feel that we are doing the greatest good in the world when we are strong, and able for active duty, and when the heart and hands are full of kindly service.

When we are called aside and can only suffer; when we are sick; when we are consumed with pain; when all our activities have been dropped, we feel that we are no longer of use, that we are not doing anything.

But, if we are patient and submissive, it is almost certain that we are a greater blessing to the world in our time of suffering and pain than we were in the days when we thought we were doing the most of our work. We are burning now, and shining because we are burning. --Evening Thoughts

"The glory of tomorrow is rooted in the drudgery of today."

Many want the glory without the cross, the shining without the burning, but crucifixion comes before coronation.
