MY COMMITMENT AS A CHRISTIAN
I'm part of the fellowship of the unashamed. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made. I'm a disciple of Jesus Christ.
I won't look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still. My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, my future is secure. I'm finished and done with low living, sight walking, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, mundane talking, cheap living, and dwarfed goals.
I no longer need preeminence, prosperity, position, promotions, plaudits, or popularity. I don't have to be right, first, tops, recognized, praised, regarded, or rewarded. I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk by patience, lift by prayer, and labor by power. My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven, my road is narrow, my way rough, my companions few, my Guide reliable, my mission clear.
I cannot be bought, deluded, or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the adversary, negotiate at the table of the enemy, or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I won't give up, shut up, let up, until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up, preached up for the cause of Christ.
I am a disciple of Jesus. I must go till He comes, give till I drop, preach till all know, and work till He stops me. And when He comes for His own, He will have no problem recognizing me-my banner will be clear!

We had some wonderful visits at the Jordan Baptist Church in April. The first was Apr. 4, when Brother Workman and his wife, Julie came. Brother Workman brought us a great sermon. A few days later we were blessed with Brother David Sloan and his wife, Jolene. They are on their way to the Ukraine to bring God's word to the lost in that country. Please keep them both in your prayers and they travel the country and the world spreading God's word.
Bro. Jon and Jessica have been going through a trying time this past month. They traveled to Houston to have Jon's bone marrow transplant. On Wed. March 27th, he had the operation, and to this point, all looks real good for him. Always keep him and Jessica in your prayers.
Mark you calendars!!! Sunday June 2nd thru Wednesday June 4th. The Hinkles are coming! We had such a good time with them when they were here in March. They sang the songs we love here and brought a moving message. Please start now inviting family, friends, and anyone you know who'd love to enjoy this blessing.
Please keep certain of our church members in your prayers along with those mentioned above. Bro. Art Viars, Bruce and Lydia Bennett, and our pianist Vicki Goff, and Curtis Kinsey, these people are in need of special prayers from us.

Thou Wilt Revive Me
by Mrs. Charles E. Cowman

"Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me" (Ps. 138:7).

The Hebrew rendering of the above is "go on in the center of trouble." What descriptive words! We have called on God in the day of trouble; we have pleaded His promise of deliverance but no deliverance has been given; the enemy has continued oppressing until we were in the very thick of the fight, in the center of trouble. Why then trouble the Master any further?

When Martha said, "Lord, if thou hadst been here my brother had not died," our Lord met her lack of hope with His further promise, "Thy brother shall rise again." And when we walk "in the center of trouble" and are tempted to think like Martha that the time of deliverance is past, He meets us too with a promise from His Word. "Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me."

Though His answer has so long delayed, though we may still continue to "go on" in the midst of trouble, "the center of trouble" is the place where He revives, not the place where He fails us.

When in the hopeless place, the continued hopeless place, is the very time when He will stretch forth His hand against the wrath of our enemies and perfect that which concerneth us, the very time when He will make the attack to cease and fail and come to an end. What occasion is there then for fainting? --Aphra White
