I taught myself the art of quilting in my early married years.  It took lots of mistakes before I finally got the concept of it.  You have to measure accuarately and cut straight. I still lean toward the simpler patterns.  If you want to learn it, get a book or get several books.  Read, read, read!  Or go to a class.  It is so rewarding!  When my kids say "Mom, I love to snuggle up under your quilts."  Or the look on someones face when they receive one of your beautiful quilts for a gift.   Some of the quilts I have made are:   Log Cabin, Nine-Patch, Trip Around the World, Amish Nine Patch, Lemoyne Star, and Sunbonnet Sue
