Real local nostalgia here, the viewpoint can still be seen today except a roundabout exists where the signal box is but the white buildings in the distance still survive to help you place the scene. The "super D???" is on chalk from Totterhoe/Sewell quarries to Rugby and the road is off for the steep climb up to Wing Road and the WCML. Chalk traffic ceased by the early 60’s with a pipeline from Kensworth quarry to Rugby replacing rail chalk movement Wolverton, 211091 thanks to Mark Beal An unusual view of 31434 assiting with footbridge replacement work at Wolverton. 31434 retained rail blue until withdrawl.
