In Shadow Unseen

         You and I crunching
         Through the ice and sparklesnow
         Me in black boots

         And the black hat
         That everyone seems to like on me.
         You with your camera

         Capturing shadow, capturing
         Light, the streetlight shining through branches
         On my cold face.

         You, all in darkness,
         Asking, 'Lift your hands to the sky and
         Turn your face to the light.'

         I want to switch places;
         You in white brightness, and I in shadow
         Unseen, holding the camera.
