Kenya 1989-90

This is me and my roommate Mumbi at the Kabete campus of the University of Nairobi.

This is my friend Kanja and me.

Here is King, a fellow student, and me in front of the University of Nairobi main campus fountain.

These were fellow Education Abroad participants at the University of Nairobi. We travelled to Mombasa on this train for a weekend getaway. L to R, back to front: Allison, Katey, Aaron, Alison and Jill.

Here we are in Mombasa after the train ride.

These are giraffes on the Rift Valley floor below the Kijabe escarpment. I camped here overnight with friends, and saw the Southern Cross for the first time! Maasai herders were nearby with their cattle.

This is the Benjamen family. They were dorm parents at Rift Valley Academy, a school for missionaries' children. The Benjamens allowed me to be their guest for the holidays and brought me along on safari. L to R: Darryl, me, Ken, Kathy and Kristin

These were two cool teachers/dorm parents at RVA that befriended me. L to R: Karen, me, Wendy

This is another cool dorm parent named Tracy with whom I would hang out at RVA .

Burundi, Easter 1990

Karen from RVA took me along on a 2 week trip to Burundi to visit her uncle who was a doctor in a remote hospital. On our journeys we visited the alleged Source of the Nile. This is me at the Source.

And here I am at a waterfall near the Source of the Nile.
