2000/2001 VOLVO WARRANTY COVERAGE

The 2000 and 2001 Volvo New Car Warranty provides comprehensive coverage for 4 years/50,000 miles. Additional warranties provide coverage for corrosion protection, seat belts, supplemental restraint system, emission systems, Genuine Volvo replacement parts, and genuine Volvo accessories. Genuine Volvo accessories installed at delivery are also included within this warranty.

A 12-month/12,000-miles adjustment period is included. Consult the 2000/2001 Warranty Information booklet for details.

2000/2001 VOLVO LIMITED WARRANTIES

New Car 4 Years 50,000 Miles

New Car*

Volvo Cars of North America, Inc. warrants that repairs required due to defects in material or factory workmanship and occurring under normal use, will be performed only by an authorized Volvo retailer at no charge for parts and/or labor during the warranty period. This warranty applies to all 2000/2001 model year Volvo passenger vehicles sold by Volvo Cars of North America, Inc.

The warranty period for repairs is four (4) years or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Those parts and services not covered are detailed in the owner's Warranty Information booklet, located in the glovebox of your vehicle.

Genuine Volvo Accessories that are purchased as part of the new car sale and installed as dealer options are covered by the New Car Limited Warranty for four (4) years of 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

Adjustment Coverage Period*

Twelve (12) Month/12,000 Miles, whichever occurs first. Adjustments which are refinements to the original factory fittings and alignments, and which are required as part of the break-in period, will be made at no charge during the Adjustments Coverage Period. Exceptions are items covered under normal maintenance services, including Pre-Delivery or items excluded in the New Car section of the owner's Warranty Information booklet. The warranty period for adjustments is twelve (12) months or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

"Adjustments" are minor repairs not usually associated with the replacement of parts of normal maintenance service items. Parts that are covered for replacement because of wear during the Adjustments Coverage Period only are: wiper blades, light bulbs (including halogen bulbs), brake pads, shock absorbers, and clutch lining. These items may also be covered under the basic warranty period if manufacturing defects cause the failure. Examples of labor-only repairs which are covered during the Adjustments Coverage Period are wheel balancing, window regulator adjustment and hood adjustment.

Seatbelt 5 Years Unlimited Mileage

Seatbelt and Supplemental Restraint Systems (SRS)*

Volvo warrants that repairs required due to defects in the material or workmanship to the seatbelt system and supplemental restraint system installed in 2000/2001 model year vehicles will be performed free of charge during the warranty period. The warranty period is five (5) years and has no mileage limitation.

There is no coverage for items listed under "What is Not Warranted" as detailed in the owner's Warranty Information booklet.

Emissions 8** Years or 80,000 Miles / 2 Years or 24,000 Miles

Emission System*

DESIGN AND EFFECT
Volvo warrants that your 2000/2001 model year Volvo was designed, built, and equipped to conform at the time of sale to U.S. emission standards, in accordance with Section 207(a) of the Federal Clean Air Act, which was applicable when the vehicle was manufactured.

This warranty covers repairs resulting from any defect in material or workmanship which would cause the vehicle not to meet these emission standards during the applicable warranty period. This emission warranty is not conditionally based on the use of genuine Volvo parts or service.

Emission Performance*

Volvo warrants that, in accordance with Section 207(B) of the Clean Air Act, it shall remedy, at no cost to the owner, any non-conformity to applicable emission standards as judged by an EPA-approved emission test.

The warranty period for the DESIGN AND DEFECT and PERFORMANCE WARRANTIES is two (2) years or 24,000 miles, whichever occurs first or eight (8) years or 80,000 miles, whichever occurs first depending on specific components. Emission components are also covered under the four(4) year, 50,000 2000/2001 mile new car warranty.

Corrosion Protection*

Volvo warrants that your 2000/2001 model year Volvo's original painted body sheet metal panels will remain free from the following conditions which result from defects in design, material or workmanship under normal use and operating conditions:

Replacement Parts - 1 Year Unlimited Mileage - Retail Purchase

Genuine Volvo Replacement Parts & Accessories*

Volvo warrants to the retail purchaser of each new genuine Volvo replacement part and accessory, that such part or accessory will be free from defects in material or workmanship.

During the Warranty period, any such defective part of accessory will be exchanged or repaired at Volvo's discretion without charge, but only by an authorized Volvo retailer. IF, and ONLY IF, such part of accessory was originally installed by an authorized Volvo retailer, the labor for removal and replacement will also be covered by this warranty.

Replacement Parts*

The warranty period for parts is one (1) year, beginning on the date the part was purchased.

Genuine Volvo Accessories*

The warranty period for genuine Volvo accessories is one (1) year, beginning on the date the accessory was purchased.

If the accessory was purchased and installed as part of the new car sale, the warranty period is four(4) years or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first. The warranty period will start and run concurrently with the New Car Limited Warranty.

Some genuine Volvo parts/accessories are covered by a specific limited warranty, for a different period. For those parts/accessories, the applicable warranty is supplied at the time of purchase including a listing of conditions and limitations.

*These 2000/2001 model year limited warranties begin on the date the vehicle is sold/delivered to the first retail purchaser or put into service, whichever occurs first. Any remaining portion of each warranty is fully transferable to subsequent owners.
